(BISMARCK, N.D.) – Several inmates from the Missouri River Correctional Center participated in the 2nd Chance Career Fair held at the Job Service North Dakota, Bismarck Customer Service Office. The event planning consisted of a partnership between Job Service North Dakota and the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Inmates were accompanied to the event by staff from the Missouri River Correctional Center Education Department and Unit Management. Donations were received by community partners in order to provide inmate’s clothing to attend the career fair. Several employers throughout the community participated and the venue provided a positive networking experience for future employment. Meaningful employment is essential for an individual’s effective and efficient transition from prison to the community.
