Do you have a child who’s wondering what to do after high school? Many juniors and seniors are likely asking some of the same questions:  Should I go to college? Learn a trade? Are there jobs in North Dakota in the field in which I’m interested?

Fortunately for your child – and you – educational opportunities are abundant and jobs are plentiful all across North Dakota. More than 24,000 jobs were posted online at jobsnd.com in November2014 so the opportunities are tremendous.

Encourage your child to take a look at the Labor Market Information Center publications on jobsnd.com. The Long-Term Employment Projections Report, for example, provides a ten-year look at future employment trends by industry and occupation and attempts to identify industries and occupations in which job openings are expected to occur.

Careers in North Dakota is another valuable publication that covers nearly everything you might want to know about career opportunities in North Dakota from wages and core tasks, to typical education and training requirements.

Job Service North Dakota is the state’s workforce agency and here to help. Encourage your son or daughter to take advantage of the information available online at jobsnd.com or to visit one of our 16 local offices for assistance.
