2017 Electrician Apprenticeship Opportunities

Employment opportunities for electricians are expected to grow 14 percent from 2014 to 2024, which is much faster than the average for all occupations. An electrician apprenticeship is a great opportunity to gain a skill set for an in-demand occupation. Here are two programs that are currently taking applications. 

Bergstrom Electric, Inc.

Bergstrom Electric, Inc. is taking applications for an electrician apprentice now through June 30, 2017.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Age: Shall be at least 18 years of age.

2. Education: Shall possess sufficient education knowledge to satisfactorily complete the on-the-job and related instruction. A high school diploma or GED equivalency is recommended. Be registered with the North Dakota State Electrical board within 30 days.

3. Aptitudes: Shall possess the basic aptitudes essential for acquiring the skills and proficiency of the trade.

4.  Physical: Shall be physically capable of performing the essential function of the occupation without endangering the health and safety of themselves and/or fellow workers.

Dakotas JATC

The Dakotas Area Electrical Apprenticeship and Training Fund is currently taking applications for an inside wireman (electrician) apprentice.

1. Complete an application form.

2. Be a minimum of 18 years of age. Provide a copy of your birth certificate.

3. Provide proof of successful completion of one full credit of high school algebra with a passing grade or one post high school algebra course with a passing grade.

4. Be a high school graduate or have a GED. Provide transcripts for high school (or GED) and/or college. Applicants must have graduated from high school at time of selection and indenture, but can be close to graduating when applying.  

5. Submit a DD-214 to verify military training and/or experience if a veteran wishing to receive consideration for such training experience.

6. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. A copy of your driver’s license must be sent with your application.

7. Prior to being indentured, applicants selected from the pool of interviewed applicants will be required to take a drug test set up and paid by the JATC.
