Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED equivalency
  • Occupationally essential health requirements (must be able to perform the work of the trade.) Questionable health characteristics could require an evaluation by a specialist.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age (Proof of age  - Copy of Birth Certificate)
  • Valid Driver's License
Applicants submit the following to the Local Union 300 (address listed above):
  • Complete application. Applications available at the Local Union 300.
  • Copy of high school diploma and transcript of school courses and grades or copy of GED Certificate and official report of test results.
  • Proof of previous work experience (dates, performance, and/or recommendations).
  • Character reference - 2 letters
  • Copy of Form DD-214 (Military Discharge) if you are a veteran.
  • Photo copy of valid driver's license.

Completed application must be returned no later than (to be announced).  Only those applicants who submit completed applications (no exceptions) will be notified at a later date when to appear for an interview.

Many applicants are disqualified due to not submitting the required materials, so please be sure to review your submission packet to ensure all materials are there.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age. Provide a copy of Birth Certificate.
  • Complete an application form.
  • Provide proof of successful completion of one full credit of high school algebra with a passing grade or one post high school algebra course with a passing grade.
  • Be a high school graduate, or have a GED.  Provide official transcripts for high school and college (and GED). Applicant must have graduated from high school at time of selection and indenture.
  • Submit a DD214 to verify military training and/or experience if a veteran and wish to receive consideration for such training/experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Take the NJATC aptitude test developed and validated by the American Institutes for Research.
  • Prior to being indentured, applicants selected from the pool of interviewed applicants will be required to take a drug test that will be set up and paid for by the JATC.

BISMARCK AREA CARPENTER JOINT APPRENTICESHIP & TRAINING COMMITTEE

LOCAL 669 SPRINKLER FITTERS APPRENTICESHIP

The Local 669 Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee conducts a five year apprenticeship program in all or part of 46 states for Sprinkler Fitters who are piping mechanics specializing in Fire Protection.

An entry-level rate is based on a percentage of the Journeyman rate of $28.37 per hour and may increase every six months if qualified. Previous experience in construction or related college or military experience may enhance the entry level wage.

The minimum qualifications for entry into the Program are:
  • Must be 18 years of age or over.
  • Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D.
  • Must be physically fit to perform the work of the trade.
  • Must have military discharge under other than dishonorable conditions, if applicable.
Applications will be accepted five (5) days per week except holidays, 52 weeks per year, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the contractor/employers address. All completed applications will be held on file until there is a need to interview applicants for expected opportunities.

Applications must be completed 45 days prior to the interview date. All applications must provide a copy of their birth certificate, high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate and Military Discharge (Form DD-214) if applicable.

Notice of Apprenticeship Applications
The Twin Cities Ironworkers Joint Apprenticeship Committee is reminding interested individuals that applications for Region A, B & C will be accepted after August 15, 2010 for the May 2011 class

Applications for Region A will only be accepted Monday through Friday, excluding weekends and holidays at the office of Ironworkers Local No. 512 Training Center located at 835 Pierce Butler Route, St. Paul, MN from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS
  • Must not be less than 18 years of age.
  • Must possess sufficient physical fitness in order to perform the duties of the trade.
  • Must have a high school diploma or a G.E.D. certificate.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or in the process of naturalization.
  • Must complete the required written examination (Region A & B applicants only).
Applicants meeting the above requirements may be interviewed and rated by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee.

Prior to placement with a contractor, each selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a drug screen, received orientation, and attending training classes in OSHA 10, OSHA Sub-part R, MSHA, and First Aid/CPR before final acceptance into the program.

Work at this trade involves extensive lifting of heavy objects and working at great heights.

Applicants selected for job placement must be able to furnish their own transportation, be agreeable to a certain amount of travel, and be aware of periods of unemployment due to the lack of construction activity.

This is a three year/6,000 hour program of on the job training, plus no less than 204 hours of related classroom and shop training each year.

SPECIAL NOTE: The actual number of placements to be made will be dependent upon the level of construction activity.
