Maren Daley
Maren Daley was appointed Executive Director of Job Service North Dakota by Governor John Hoeven in December 2000.
A North Dakota native, Maren grew up on a farm in the Red River Valley and graduated from Midway High School in 1977. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at the University of North Dakota in 1980, where she majored in aviation administration and worked part time as a flight instructor. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1983.
Maren spent the first 17 years of her career as a banker and lawyer with First National Bank North Dakota in Grand Forks, now known as Alerus Financial. She held the positions of senior vice president, loan product manager and corporate secretary for the bank. She specialized in commercial and agricultural lending and risk management.
Job Service North Dakota administers the state and federal unemployment insurance program, provides labor market information and delivers specific services to targeted workforce sectors. The agency also administers North Dakota's Workforce 2020 and New Jobs Training Programs. In connection with her position as Executive Director, Maren currently chairs the Labor Market Information Committee for the National Association of State Workforce Agencies.
