Students interested in applying to veterinary school are encouraged to pursue a bachelor’s degree in one of the sciences and take courses that meet specific veterinary school admission requirements. Suggested coursework includes chemistry, biochemistry, biology, mathematics, physics and zoology. North Dakota has no veterinary medicine school of its own, but contracts with a number of out-of-state schools, reserving slots for North Dakota residents. The state pays part of the tuition for students admitted under the contract program.
